Associate Principal

Mr. Earnest attended Long Beach State majoring in Liberal Studies.  He served over 20 years professionally in the Anaheim Union High School District. His first seven years were at Walker Junior High School as a classroom teacher teaching social science, math, journalism and conflict resolution. While at Walker he helped the implementation of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (IB-MYP)   He spent 4 years as an assistant principal at Sycamore Junior High School helping the school grow from 1200 students to 1800 students and helped implement the AVID program.  Mr. Earnest spent 6 years as principal of Brookhurst Junior High School.  While at Brookhurst he again started a successful AVID program and helped coordinate a more rigorous teaching and learning environment.  Before joining Duarte High School Mr. Earnest was principal of John F. Kennedy High School.   While at Kennedy he helped grow the IB program to include more students from across the district.  He also helped the school earn a California Distinguished School Award (2013) for student achievement and a Gold Ribbon Award (2017) for their intervention program.
