Program Overview

The Duarte Falcon Band & Color Guard program is a year-round comprehensive program dedicated to providing students with daily instruction in instrumental music as well as dance.

 

CURRICULUM

 

Marching Band, Concert Band & Wind Ensemble

Students learn an emphasis on musicianship and technique for the woodwind & brass players. Performances for these ensembles include: Football Games, Field Show Competitions, Parades, UCLA Band Days, Disneyland Performances, Concerts and Festivals

 

Jazz Ensemble

Jazz Band offers a daily musical experience with
an emphasis on the various styles of Jazz. Students
are given an opportunity to develop their individual technique & skill, musicianship & knowledge of literature covering a wide scope of musical eras & styles while in a large ensemble setting. Performances for these ensembles include: Concerts, Festivals and Community Performances

 

Drumline

Drumline offers a daily musical experience with an emphasis on musicianship and fundamentals for percussion players. 1st semester is spent in preparation of music for football games, parades and field show competitions. 2nd semester is spent in preparation of music for indoor competitions and concert performances. Performances for these ensembles include: Field Season Performances, Concert Performances and Drumline Competitions

 

Color Guard

Color Guard teaches dance movement and dance skills through the use of artistic props and costumes. 1st semester is spent in preparation of dance work for parades and field show competitions. 2nd semester is spent in preparation of dance work for indoor competitions. Performances for these ensembles include: Football Games, Field Show Competitions, Parades, UCLA Band Days, Disneyland Performances and Winter Guard Competitions
